Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) said Wednesday that Donald Trump Jr.’s interview with the House Intelligence Committee reveals “a very serious case of amnesia.” She slammed President Trump’s eldest son for not answering the committee’s questions.
“My takeaway is he has a very serious case of amnesia and he was pretty nonresponsive on a lot of issues that frankly, you would have a recollection of, considering it was just a year ago that many of these events took place,” Speier told CNN’s “Erin Burnett Outfront.”

Speier’s remarks come after Trump Jr. took part in a closed-door meeting in front of the House Intelligence Committee as part of its investigation into Russia’s election meddling and any potential ties between Trump campaign staff members and the Kremlin.
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the ranking member of the committee, said after the testimony that Trump Jr. refused to provide answers about a conversation with his father, President Trump, regarding a controversial 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer.
Trump Jr., according to Schiff, invoked attorney-client privilege when asked about the conversation because he said a lawyer was present.
