Dem praises Macron: He ‘seduced Trump’ with ‘hugs and kisses’
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) said on Wednesday that French President Emmanuel Macron charmed President Trump during a state visit to the U.S. and “seduced” him with “hugs and kisses.”
Raskin added in a tweet that Macron’s “message is to ditch authoritarianism and the Alt-Right and stand up for strong democracy and human rights.”
Macron seduced Trump and the GOP with all the hugs and kisses. His message is to ditch authoritarianism and the Alt-Right and stand up for strong democracy and human rights.

Raskin’s tweet comes on the last day of Macron’s first state visit to the U.S.
{mosads}Macron and Trump were frequently seen embracing throughout the visit, which included a review of U.S. troops on the White House lawn, a joint press conference and a state dinner.
Trump even wiped dandruff off of Macron’s shoulder in the Oval Office.
“They’re all saying what a great relationship we have, and they’re actually correct. It’s not fake news. Finally, it’s not fake news. It’s a great honor, a great honor that you’re here, in fact, I’ll get that little piece of dandruff, that little piece,” Trump said, laughing.
Macron’s visit was largely seen as an attempt to urge the president to keep the U.S. in the Iran nuclear deal, which Trump has called an “embarrassment.”
Trump on Tuesday suggested he might be willing accept changes in the multinational agreement with Tehran.
“We’re looking forward to doing something, but it has to be done and it has to be done strongly,” Trump said. “We’re fairly close to understanding each other. Our one on one went very well.”
“Nobody knows what I’m going to do on the 12th, although Mr. President, you have a pretty good idea,” Trump said during a joint press conference with Macron, referring to a May 12 deadline the president has set.
