House Oversight chair plans to subpoena for 10 years of Trump financial records: report

House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), plans to issue a subpoena for 10 years of President Trump’s financial records, according to a memo obtained by Politico. 

The memo, sent by Cummings to other committee members on Friday, says he plans to issue a subpoena of the accounting firm Mazars USA LLP on Monday.

{mosads}The subpoena would seek Mazars’s records on the Trump Organization, Trump’s revocable trust and any other records relating to the president. The subpoena would also demand all communications between Trump and Mazars partner Donald Bender.

Cummings first requested the documents in late March, after Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen testified that Trump often manipulated his net worth for “potentially improper purposes.” He requested the firm send the panel any related documents by April 3.

The firm then asked for a so-called friendly subpoena, saying it could not turn over the documents otherwise.

The request also comes as the House Ways and Means Committee has requested the IRS turn over six years of Trump’s personal and business tax returns, from 2013-2018, by April 10. The documents were not turned over.
