Moskowitz fires back at Trump over remarks on Jewish Democrats

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) fired back at former President Trump over his latest remarks about Jewish Democrats Wednesday.

Trump said any Jewish person who votes for Democrats or President Biden “should have their head examined” in remarks to reporters after landing in Georgia for a fundraiser.

Moskowitz pushed back on the remark and referenced Trump’s 2022 meeting with Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and white supremacist Nick Fuentes — who have both faced criticism for their antisemitic rhetoric.

“Had my head examined. All is well,” Moskowitz wrote on social media platform X in response to the remarks. “I appreciate the Presidents concern. When is Trump having dinner with Kayne and Nick Fuentes again?”

Trump repeated his familiar claims Wednesday that Biden has “abandoned” Israel in its war against militant group Hamas in Gaza.

“Biden has totally lost control of the Israel situation. He has abandoned Israel; he’s totally abandoned Israel,” the former president said. “And frankly, you know he’s a low IQ individual. He has no idea where he is and who is supporting.”

“He doesn’t know if he’s supporting the Palestinians, but he knows one thing,” he added. “He is not supporting Israel. He has abandoned Israel, and any Jewish person that votes for a Democrat or votes for Biden should have their head examined.”

Trump has made similar comments on Jewish voters before. He said last month that any Jewish person who “votes for Democrats hates their religion, they hate everything about Israel, and they should be ashamed of themselves because Israel will be destroyed.”

The Biden administration criticized his comments at the time, with White House spokesperson Andrew Bates saying there was “no justification for spreading toxic, false stereotypes that threaten fellow citizens.”

Biden campaign spokesperson James Singer criticized Trump’s comments in a statement to The Hill.

“Jewish Americans do not need to be ‘spoken to’ or threatened by Donald Trump, a man who has praised neo-Nazis, dined with anti-Semites, and allegedly has kind words for Adolf Hitler. This is what Trump does, using division and hate as political weapons while seeking power for himself,” he said.

“Voters of all stripes will reject his chaos, violence, and unhinged threats once again in November.”

The Hill has reached out to the Trump campaign for comment.
