GOP’s Carter fends off challenge in Texas

Rep. John Carter (R-Texas) won his 10th term to Congress, holding off a challenge from Democratic candidate Donna Imam and keeping the district red.

Carter, a Republican who represents the suburbs of Austin, was in a tight race with Imam in a district that has become more competitive since 2018.

Carter is a member of the House Appropriations Committee and was a district court judge before running for Congress.

Carter ran as a conservative who had the support of President Trump, and touted his backing of tax reform and repealing ObamaCare.
