Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) raised a staggering $3.2 million in the first quarter of 2021, her campaign said, indicating the furor over a slew of controversial remarks have not made a dent in her campaign bank account.

Greene’s campaign said in a press release that it had raised the money from more than 100,000 individual contributions in all 50 states and that the average donation amounted to $32.

“Over 100,000 donors poured in over $3,200,000 to support me, averaging $32 per donation. You know why? I stood my ground and never wavered in my belief in America First policies and putting People Over Politicians! And I will NEVER backdown! As a matter of fact, I’m just getting started,” Greene said in a statement.

The sum — an eye-popping amount for a first-term lawmaker in an off-year quarter — follows bipartisan criticism over resurfaced remarks from Greene saying school shootings were hoaxes, advocating for violence against Democrats, expressing support for the QAnon conspiracy theory and more.

By comparison, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), who surged to progressive stardom in 2018 after her primary victory over then-Rep. Joe Crowley (D-N.Y.), raised $728,000 in the first quarter of 2019.

Some Republicans have said Greene’s remarks were offensive and Democrats in the House voted earlier this year voted to strip her of her committee assignments.

Greene represents a ruby red district in the northwestern corner of Georgia, though what it will look like after redistricting is still unclear. She is expected to face attacks in a primary from anti-Trump Republicans such as Rep. Adam Kinzinger (Ill.), who has already threatened to use his own resources to oppose her.

Greene focused many of her fundraising solicitations during her nascent term on the controversies, casting herself as a fighter against the Washington establishment in the mold of former President Trump.

“For too long, the political ruling class that looks down on the rest of us, have been selling out America to the world, by whipping the backs of the hardworking American worker and taxpayer. But they fear one thing. The political ruling class fears the people because it’s the people that can take away what they love most. Power. Because it’s power that brings them everything else,” Greene said in her statement touting her haul.

“I am one of the people and the people are with me, and I will always be with them.”

Politico first reported on Greene’s fundraising total.
