Fox News picks first female CFO
Fox News named Amy Listerman its new chief financial officer on Monday, making her the network’s first female CFO in its 20-year history.
Listerman, who had been CFO and senior vice president of advertising sales for Scripps, will report directly to Fox News co-presidents Jack Abernethy and Bill Shine.
The two men were named co-presidents following the resignation of former Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes shortly after an internal investigation surrounding sexual harassment claims was launched last July.
{mosads}“Amy has an impressive track record of strong controllership, leading with integrity and partnering with management on growing new revenue streams,” says Abernethy and Shine in a joint statement. “We look forward to implementing her expertise across all of our business units.”
Listerman will oversee all financial operations for both Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network, starting May 1.
The move comes as more than 60 advertisers have pulled their advertisements from Bill O’Reilly’s primetime Fox program following a New York Times report that he paid $13 million to five women who accused him of sexual harassment and improper conduct.
The network indicated last week that ads have been shifted to other programs on the network.
Fox News continues to be 21st Century Fox’s most profitable entity. The research firm SNL Kagan estimates that the cable news channel generated $2.3 billion in ad sales during its last completed fiscal year.
Pivotal Research analyst Brian Wieser reported the operating profit for Fox News was $1.6 billion last fiscal year, or nearly 25 percent of 21st Century Fox’s overall operating profit.
