Fox News anchor Jenna Lee made a surprise announcement that she has decided to leave the network on Friday.
“I’ve decided it’s time for a change and have chosen to leave Fox News. I love being a journalist. I believe it’s what I’m called to do,” Lee, 37, told her audience at the end of her 2 p.m. broadcast. “I have some really big ideas on how to better serve you in that particular arena.”
She added in a separate statement, “It has truly been a privilege serving our viewers.”

Lee originally was signed by Fox Business to co-anchor its morning program, at the time called “Fox Business Morning,” in 2007. She then moved on to Fox News to anchor “Happening Now” in 2010.
“This was a difficult decision for me and I’m very grateful for the opportunities that the Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network have afforded me,” said Lee in a statement.
“We are grateful for Jenna’s many contributions to Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network throughout her 10 years here. She is a talented journalist and we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors,” said Jay Wallace, the network’s president of news.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R), a frequent Fox News guest, tweeted his “heartfelt best wishes” shortly after the announcement. He called Lee “a classy young lady, total pro as journalist, and genuinely nice person.”
Fox News did not immediately announce who would replace Lee as anchor on “Happening Now.”
