CNN’s Acosta: Fox ‘always’ got questions under Obama

CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta on Monday ramped up his criticism of the Trump administration’s press shop, pointing out that the Obama administration “always” gave Fox News a question at White House briefings.

During an appearance on “CNN Newsroom with Brooke Baldwin,” Acosta said the Trump White House has “blackballed” CNN and has not taken his questions in “weeks.”

{mosads}“He may have taken a question here or there over the last couple of weeks, but we’ve largely been just blackballed during these briefings,” Acosta said, referring to White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

“We’re just not getting questions to the White House press secretary.”

Acosta last week said Spicer was “just kind of useless” amid mounting frustrations over increased off-camera briefings at the White House.

Acosta on Monday said he wants to make “perfectly clear” to viewers that the Obama White House called on Fox News in the daily briefings.

“Fox News always got a question every day at the briefing under President Obama, so let’s just make sure that that’s perfectly clear to everybody watching out there,” he said.

“This is a new thing that this White House is doing to us here at CNN and to a couple of other news outlets as well.”
