Former Fox News host Eric Bolling revealed Thursday that his teenage son died from a drug overdose.
In a tweet, Rolling wrote that the death of his 19-year-old son, Eric Chase, was ruled an accidental overdose that included opioids, The Washington Post reported.
“We must fight against this national epidemic, too many innocent victims,” Bolling wrote in a second tweet.
The tragic announcement came the same day President Trump declared the opioid crisis a national public health emergency, a move that has been panned by critics because the classification does not allocate new federal funds to the cause.
Bolling also used Twitter to announce the death of his son on Sept. 9.
Bolling was fired from Fox News over sexual harassment allegations, hours before his son was found dead.
{mosads}Bolling feuded with Bill O’Reilly earlier this week, after O’Reilly brought up the death of Bolling’s son in an interview with The New York Times about how the allegations of sexual harassment have affected O’Reilly’s family, saying that the allegations against Bolling were connected to Eric Chase’s death.
Eric Chase’s official cause of death was mixed drug intoxication, including opioids and fentanyl, according to the Boulder County Coroner, The Washington Post reported.
