Prominent politics reporter Ryan Lizza is writing for Rolling Stone a few months after being fired from The New Yorker amid sexual misconduct allegations, Vanity Fair reported Monday.

The New Yorker fired Lizza in December over misconduct claims that Lizza strenuously denied. In a statement, Lizza said was “dismayed” the publication had portrayed “a respectful relationship with a woman I dated as somehow inappropriate.”

Lizza was originally considered to be a full-time staffer at Rolling Stone, according to Vanity Fair, but the magazine hired him as a freelancer instead after a discussion with female staffers. Lizza is currently working on two stories for Rolling Stone.

{mosads}Lizza is also a contributor at CNN, which announced in January that the results of its own investigation had found no reason to keep him off CNN shows.

“Based on the information provided and the findings of the investigation, CNN has found no reason to continue to keep Mr. Lizza off the air,” the network said on Jan. 25

Vanity Fair reported that Rolling Stone had done its own “due diligence” into the allegations against Lizza.

Lizza made headlines last year when he was still at The New Yorker with a July interview with then-White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci.

Scaramucci, who claimed he believed the conversation with Lizza was off the record, went on a expletive-laced tirade that resulted in his resignation from his position in the White House after just 10 days on the job.
