Scaramucci apologizes to Maddow for ‘lighthearted’ suppository joke

Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci apologized Friday to MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, calling his suggestion that she “maybe take a suppository” after her criticism of President Trump “a lighthearted joke” that was “blown out of proportion.”

{mosads}Earlier in the day, the former hedge fund manager said that Maddow and other liberals suffered from “Trump Derangement Syndrome” over their criticism of Trump agreeing to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Maddow has tweeted since Scaramucci’s apology but has not responded to him publicly.

If Trump meets with Kim, he would become the first U.S. president to meet with a North Korean leader while in office.

A date and location for the meeting has not been determined.
