CNN will air a special Friday night featuring video diaries from students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, the site of a deadly mass shooting last month in Parkland, Fla.
“The special, The Parkland Diaries, will feature the students’ video diaries which were filmed in the days and weeks following the tragic shooting that forever changed their lives,” reads the announcement. “The hour will include an interview with [Anderson] Cooper and the students who are still grappling with the effects of this traumatic event.”

“The special will include poignant videos from Emma Gonzalez, David Hogg (who will also share footage he took of his classroom during the shooting), Cameron Kasky, Alex Wind, Samantha Grady and Samantha Fuentes, who filmed her phone conversation with President Trump from her hospital bed,” it continues.
Fuentes, a senior, told CNN on Feb. 23 that she couldn’t say “she was consoled or helped” by the call from the president.
“I don’t think he’s ever had to have that conversation with someone before,” Fuentes said. “It was definitely clear in that moment because he did not express any real empathy. It is kind of hard to express empathy when you don’t understand.”
“It’s just that when you go through a very traumatic experience such as this one … you have to be very delicate in the way you phrase your words to people,” she continued.
“I don’t think he took any caution or any regard for what I was going through,” Fuentes added. “That kind of hurt my feelings.”
“The Parkland Diaries” will air Friday at 9 p.m.
