‘Morning Joe’ host hits Cruz over Trump Time piece: Have you no shame?

“Morning Joe” host Mika Brzezinski lashed out at Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) for writing a flattering essay about President Trump for Time Magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people, asking the senator is he has “no shame.”

“Senator Cruz, you write in praise of a man who defined you as a liar, deeply insulted your wife and accused your father of plotting the assassination of President Kennedy,” Brzezinski tweeted.

“I respectfully ask, have you no shame?”

Cruz wrote a complimentary piece about Trump for the Time magazine list, saying the president has followed through on his campaign promise to “disrupt the status quo.”

“The fact that his first year as Commander in Chief disoriented and distressed members of the media and political establishment is not a bug but a feature,” Cruz wrote.

However, words exchanged between the two men have not always been so kind. 

During the campaign, Trump suggested that Cruz’s father was involved in the assassination of John F. Kennedy and retweeted a tweet critical of Cruz’s wife’s appearance. He also referred to Cruz as “Lyin’ Ted.”

Cruz fired back, calling Trump “utterly immoral” and a “pathological liar.”
