‘Morning Joe’ host: Trump tweeting during Barbara Bush funeral ‘insulting’ to US
Personalities on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Monday criticized President Trump for tweeting on Saturday during the funeral for former first lady Barbara Bush.
Co-host Mika Brzezinski called Trump’s tweets “especially insulting to the United States of America” on a day “the world said goodbye to Barbara Bush.”
{mosads}Panelist Mike Barnicle referenced a photo that went viral after the funeral showing current first lady Melania Trump; former Presidents George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama; and former first ladies Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush and Michelle Obama.
“It’s a reminder of who we used to be as a government and as people who participated in politics,” Barnicle said.
“That’s the America that the president of the United States denigrated Saturday during a funeral service with his tweets, many of which are outright lies,” he added.
Trump did not attend Bush’s funeral on Saturday, and instead watched from his Mar-a-Lago property in Florida. While he did not tweet during the church service portion of the funeral, he sent multiple tweets in the hours that followed.
One tweet mocked a recent Democratic National Committee lawsuit over hacked emails.
Another, sent a short time later, attacked former FBI Director James Comey and accused him of breaking the law by leaking classified memos.
James Comey’s Memos are Classified, I did not Declassify them. They belong to our Government! Therefore, he broke the law! Additionally, he totally made up many of the things he said I said, and he is already a proven liar and leaker. Where are Memos on Clinton, Lynch & others?

Trump’s third tweet on Saturday afternoon bashed The Washington Post for reporting that Trump calls Attorney General Jeff Sessions “Mr. Magoo” and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein “Mr. Peepers.”
The Washington Post said I refer to Jeff Sessions as “Mr. Magoo” and Rod Rosenstein as “Mr. Peepers.” This is “according to people with whom the president has spoken.” There are no such people and don’t know these characters…just more Fake & Disgusting News to create ill will!
