Trump heaps praise on Drudge Report
President Trump applauded Matt Drudge and the Drudge Report on Friday, telling Fox News that the conservative aggregation site is “great” while calling Drudge himself “a great gentleman” who “really has the ability to capture stories that people want to see.”
“Drudge is great by the way,” the president said during an impromptu interview on “Fox & Friends” on the North Lawn of the White House. “Matt Drudge is a great gentleman. He really has the ability to capture stories that people want to see.”
{mosads}Trump also praised Drudge for a lead headline touting the strong economy, noting that “it was the number one story on Drudge, 44-year low unemployment. I saw that in very big letters and … that makes me very proud.”
The Drudge Report regularly places headlines favorable to the president on the site, which is visited by more than 2 million people per day.
