Rev. Al Sharpton, host of MSNBC’s Sunday show PoliticsNation, teased a potential interview with President Trump’s former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen.

“Just spent an hour w/ Michael Cohen, Trump’s former attorney,” Sharpton tweeted on Friday. “I bet you’re wondering what we could be talking about! Stay tuned.”

Cohen responded, saying there was “no one better” to sit down with.

“I have know Rev for almost 20 years,” Cohen wrote on Twitter. “No one better to talk to!”

Sharpton is a frequent critic of Trump and said earlier this year that the president was “committed to undoing” the work of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

MSNBC did not immediately reply to a Hill question about when an interview would air.

This would be Cohen’s second interview with a major news network in recent weeks.

Earlier this month, the attorney sat down with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos.

Cohen has been making headlines since it was revealed earlier this year that he paid adult-film star Stormy Daniels $130,000 as part of a nondisclosure agreement to keep quiet about her alleged affair with Trump before the 2016 presidential election.

Trump later admitted reimbursing Cohen for the payment. The President has denied having an affair with Stormy Daniels.

The president is no longer one of Cohen’s clients.

Cohen’s new attorney said the former Trump lawyer has made “a declaration of independence” from protecting the president.

Cohen is considering cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller’s federal investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, CNN reported last month, citing a friend of Cohen.

Trump’s former longtime personal attorney is currently under investigation in the Southern District of New York for possible bank and wire fraud and campaign finance law violations.

The FBI raided his home, office and hotel room earlier this year and collected thousands of files.
