Second sexual harassment lawsuit filed against NFL Network

A former employee has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against NFL Network, the second such lawsuit against the network in the last eight months. 

USA Today reported that Erin McParland, who worked for roughly two years as a makeup artist, alleged she repeatedly had to tell analyst and former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin to “not touch” her. 

She also claimed that network analyst and former San Francisco 49ers player Eric Davis would “rub his genitals” against her.

Her lawsuit alleges McParland sustained “severe physical, mental and emotional injuries” during her stint at NFL Network. She is seeking an “amount sufficient to punish and make an example” of the network, USA Today reported.

McParland is the latest woman to come forward with allegations of sexual harassment against men in the work place. The “Me Too” movement has led to harassment accusations against numerous powerful men in the media and entertainment industries, including Matt Lauer, Harvey Weinstein and Charlie Rose.

Former NFL Network makeup artist Jami Cantor filed a lawsuit in December claiming she received inappropriate text messages and was sexually harassed and groped by several network analysts. Davis was also named in that lawsuit.

The network suspended Marshall Faulk, Ike Taylor and Heath Evans over Cantor’s accusations.

Donovan McNabb and Warren Sapp, who were also named in Cantor’s lawsuit, and Davis no longer worked at NFL Network at the time it was filed, but were suspended by ESPN while it investigated the accusations.
