NBC reporter dismisses Daily Caller as ‘Trump’s pet media’ following White House press conference
NBC News intelligence and national security reporter Ken Dilanian on Monday dismissed The Daily Caller as “Trump’s pet media” after one of its reporters was called on at a joint press conference with President Trump and the prime minister of Italy.
“What was I saying earlier about Trump’s pet media. He actually called on the Daily Caller. Next up: Sputnik,” Dilanian wrote on Twitter on Monday after Daily Caller White House correspondent Saagar Enjeti asked Trump about a possible government shutdown if $25 billion isn’t provided by Congress for a wall along the southern border.
Enjeti shrugged off the criticism on Twitter after the conference.{mosads}
“Just left the joint press conference with @realDonaldTrump and the PM of Italy. Let me guess, the internet is mad I got a question,” Enjeti wrote.

Following his tweet, Dilanian faced blowback from other journalists on social media later Monday afternoon, with some defending Enjeti’s question.
You’re right, @esaagar totally asked a softball question that didn’t make news at all pic.twitter.com/rz4VA63uX0

the same predictable, stupid complaint every time. @esaagar‘s question was fine, good lord. https://t.co/bbTuDsDtKj

This thing where reporters gripe about Trump calling on certain outlets without actually judging the individual reporter’s work and questions is really shitty, and it happens every time. https://t.co/pg2Junif9E

Dilanian also retweeted several media members last week after CNN’s Kaitlan Collins was barred from attending a Rose Garden event for asking what was described by the White House as “inappropriate” questions during an Oval Office meeting. Collins once worked for The Daily Caller.
Worth noting that at an early Trump press conference, there was a furor that he called on the Daily Caller. The reporter who upset many by asking a question of Trump was @kaitlancollins https://t.co/mkB9hjjKvM

There are Daily Caller alumni at Yahoo, CBS, CNN, and more. This is such a silly look from the legacy media reporters.

All journalists must stick together (if they work for the right outlets.)

Notice how @KenDilanianNBC didn’t criticize the content of @esaagar’s question, just that he’s from the “wrong” outlet. https://t.co/XQJOUO9LHh
