Shapiro slams Warren for announcing DNA results: ‘A glorious self-own’

Conservative writer Ben Shapiro slammed Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) Monday for asking President Trump to honor his pledge to donate $1 million to charity now that a DNA test has revealed signs of her possible Native American ancestry.

Warren has called on Trump to donate $1 million to the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center, following her announcement that geneticists had found indications that she had a Native-American ancestor roughly six to 10 generations ago.

{mosads}”By the way, @realDonaldTrump: Remember saying on 7/5 that you’d give $1M to a charity of my choice if my DNA showed Native American ancestry?” Warren tweeted.

“I remember — and here’s the verdict. Please send the check to the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center.”

Trump said at his July 5 rally that he would give $1 million to the charity of Warren’s choice if she proved her ancestry.

“I will give you a million dollars, paid for by Trump, to your favorite charity, if you take the test and it shows you’re an Indian,” Trump said. “I have a feeling she will say ‘no.'”

Trump denied having pledged to do so Monday.

“I didn’t say that. You’d better read it again,” Trump told reporters at the White House when asked about his offer.

When asked about Warren’s test, Trump said, “Who cares?”

Conservatives have slammed Warren for claiming Native American ancestry in the past and have continued to do so following her announcement, noting that the geneticist said there was only a possibility she may have 1/1,204 Native American ancestry.

Shapiro joked about how distant Warren’s ancestor would have had to be in a later tweet, invoking Trump’s “Pocahontas” nickname for Warren.
