Hatch tweeted the edited, stylized video of himself eating bacon from his official Senate account.
{mosads}The video included the song “Oh Yeah” by the Swiss band Yello, which was popularized by the classic film “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”
The article he was responding to, from The Independent, speculates that idioms involving animal products could become obsolete as more people remove them from their diets.
It quotes an academic who suggests phrases like “flogging a dead horse” and “killing two birds with one stone” be replaced with ones including “feeding a fed horse” or “feeding two birds with one scone.”
Hatch also tweeted an unprompted picture of himself holding a piece of bacon Sunday.
