CNN’s Chris Cuomo knocks ‘state TV’ Fox News

CNN’s Chris Cuomo criticized rival network Fox News on Monday during an interview with President Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.

During the interview, Lewandowski tried to claim that Trump was “more accessible to the media than any president in modern history,” a characterization which Cuomo took offense to.

{mosads}“That’s poppycock,” Cuomo responded. “He won’t even come on CNN. He only goes where he gets a pat on the back.”

“This TV outlet, ‘state TV’ as I call them, Fox,” Cuomo said.

“In prime-time TV, and from a management perspective, they are pawns of this president,” Cuomo said during another part of the interview.

Cuomo has long been a critic of the conservative rival news network and last year accused anchors at Fox News of deliberately ignoring and downplaying the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” immigration policy.

“It’s designed to push this ‘us versus them’ political philosophy,” Cuomo said of Fox News last year. “Painting migrants as dangerous folk, infesters, killers, gangbangers and drug pushers.”

“This has never been about the facts, this is about the feelings. Politics of emotion,” he added.

He has also sparred with the network’s opinion hosts, most notable Laura Ingraham, addressing her on his program after she warned that “demographic changes” were a danger to America.

“To turn a phrase back on our us-versus-them friends — if you don’t like what America is, you leave,” Cuomo said in August.

“America does not need to become great again,” he added at the time, referencing Trump’s campaign slogan. “She will only become greater by being more of what she already is.”
