Ramaswamy rips CNN over ‘shenanigans’ ahead of next debate
Republican presidential primary candidate Vivek Ramaswamy tore into CNN for what he called “shenanigans” and unfair coverage of him ahead of a GOP debate the network is hosting this month.
Predicting the CNN debate will “be the most boring in modern history,” Ramaswamy wrote in a lengthy post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that he would skip the event and instead do a live event with conservative media personality and podcaster Tim Pool.
Ramaswamy listed off a litany of complaints about CNN and its coverage, noting its anchors and reporters have pushed back on unproven theories he has floated during his campaign and accusing the network of bias against him.
Doubts have been raised as to whether Ramaswamy, who has been polling in the single digits, will qualify for the Jan. 10 debate in Des Moines, Iowa.
Ramaswamy has a history of attacking mainstream media outlets over coverage of him and has garnered widespread criticism for his rhetoric during the first four GOP debates.
He and each of the other GOP primary candidates, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, trail well behind former President Trump in the polls.
Trump has so far skipped the GOP primary debates, citing his large lead.
