Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) blasted what she called a “circus” in the House on Wednesday, when Hunter Biden, the president’s son, made a surprise visit to a hearing of the Oversight and Accountability Committee.
During an appearance on ABC’s “The View,” Cheney said she had “only seen clips” of the chaos that broke out in the hearing room just minutes before she went on the program, but she said elected representatives need to do a better job of respecting the congressional inquiry process.
“These are not games,” Cheney said, before adding Hunter Biden “should be held accountable like anyone else.”
Cheney noted the select committee she vice-chaired on the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol was able to get testimony from witnesses who did not want to speak publicly about the incident and what led to it.
