Scarborough embraces Trump’s new ‘Morning Psycho’ nickname on air: ‘Hi Donald, how you doing’
MSNBC host Joe Scarborough fired back to President Trump’s shots at the ratings of “Morning Joe” on Twitter, thanking the president for being a supposed frequent viewer of the program.
Following a barrage of tweets from the president Tuesday morning that referred to the show as “Morning Psycho,” which he called “a really bad show with low ratings,” Scarborough defended his show’s success and mocked Trump for his frequent criticism of news outlets.
{mosads}”We’ve got a few tweets from the president, since he mentioned us,” Scarborough began. “Hi Donald, how you doing?”
“He’s gotta stop watching us, this is a sickness,” responded co-host Mika Brzezinski.
Scarborough continued, mentioning Trump’s past criticism of CNN President Jeff Zucker, whom Trump has blamed for the network’s negative coverage of his administration while a chyron containing the nickname appeared onscreen.

“I remember you telling Jeff Zucker that you didn’t need CNN, the entire network of CNN, to get elected, but you are saying our show is so powerful that we got you elected. Wow, that’s great!” Scarborough said sarcastically.
“It’s viewers like you, Mr. President, who make it all possible,” added co-host Willie Geist. “No, we have a great team who comes in in the middle of the night, works all night, works around the clock, works all weekend to get the show ready.”
The MSNBC show has been a frequent target for the president’s wrath following then-candidate Trump’s public spat with Scarborough and Brzezinski 2016, after which he ceased regularly appearing on the network.
The president and Scarborough, a former Republican congressman, previously traded blows on Twitter last year when the president tweeted that “Morning Joe” was a “dead show with very few people watching.”
