Tomi Lahren criticizes Boston for not permitting Straight Pride Parade

Fox Nation host and conservative commentator Tomi Lahren said it’s “open season on straight white men” as a group struggles to get a Boston permit for a “Straight Pride” parade.

“You can be proud of about anything days, so long as it’s not straight, white, male, or God forbid, conservative,” Lahren said Wednesday on her online show, “First Thoughts.” “But as it turns out, the city of Boston may not be so tolerant and accepting of a Straight Pride parade, either.”

Boston’s Straight Pride event allegedly aims to celebrate heterosexuality in a city that’s said to have one of the largest LGBTQ communities in the nation. One of the event’s organizers wrote on Facebook that the parade is meant to poke fun at “identity politics.”

{mosads}While Straight Pride may be “intended to be a joke of sorts,” Lahren said, “why is it so taboo nowadays to recognize or be proud of how sexuality or traditional values in general? … I’m sick of this.”

So far, the parade — which has a tentative date of Aug. 31, according to organizers — doesn’t appear to have received a required city permit.

When contacted Tuesday about the parade by The Hill, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh said in a written statement that “every year, Boston hosts our annual Pride Week, where our city comes together to celebrate the diversity, strength and acceptance of our LGBTQ community.”

“This is a special week that represents Boston’s values of love and inclusion, which are unwavering,” he wrote.

Lahren took aim at the city, saying “straight people aren’t allowed to parade their heterosexuality for all to see.”

“The very groups that preached tolerance, love and acceptance are anything but loving tolerance and accepting. In this era of 64 gender designations, female Boy Scouts and pronoun enforcement, all things traditional or conservative are being hateful and deplorable,” Lahren said. “Enough. Enough with that crap.”
