Cable news channel NewsNation has hired Democratic strategist Kurt Bardella as a contributor.

In a social media post announcing the news this week, Bardella wrote “at a time when so many cable/media outlets are downsizing, I feel incredibly fortunate to get this opportunity.”

“I am so thankful to the leadership at NewsNation for believing in my talent and value,” Bardella said.

The network has also hired Democratic strategist Scott Bolden, Republican strategist Denise Gitsham and political analyst Lindsey Granger as contributors, the network confirmed.

Launched in 2021, NewsNation has in recent months beefed up its roster of hosts, contributors and daily news programs.

The network earlier this month announced the hiring of former Fox News pundit Geraldo Rivera as a contributor and launched a weekend public affairs program, dubbed “The Hill Sunday,” which will air beginning in March.

NewsNation, like The Hill, is owned by Nexstar Media Group.
