Mika Brzezinski to Ivanka and Melania: ‘You will go down in history as having done nothing about’ conditions for migrant children
Mika Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” on Wednesday accused first lady Melania Trump and White House adviser Ivanka Trump of taking no action to help improve the conditions that migrant children are facing at detention facilities.
“Melania went to the border to check on the children when the separations first came out. Ivanka went publicly because of course her brand is women and children, but she’s taken that off her brand, children,” Brzezinski said.
{mosads}She noted Ivanka Trump’s remarks last year that family separations were a “low point” for her.
“What do you think this is? When you have children in squalor with the flu spreading rampantly around them. With children in danger, on your watch,” Brzezinski said.
“This is not being best,” Brzezinski added in a jab at the first lady’s “Be Best” anti-bullying and child health campaign. “This is not a good look, and history will show. You will go down in history as having done nothing about this. I hope that you can live with that,” she said.

Conditions at detention facilities where migrant children are being held came under increased scrutiny recently after The Associated Press reported the account of attorneys visiting a facility in Clint, Texas. They said that children went weeks without bathing and that the children were only fed meals that included uncooked frozen food or rice.
An official reportedly disputed some of the allegations, according to CNN.
