Huntsman of ‘The View’ declares Castro campaign dead after Biden moment
The hosts of ABC’s “The View” on Friday all ripped former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro for his attack on former Vice President Joe Biden.
Co-host Abby Huntsman said Castro’s campaign would not survive after considerable blowback from Democrats over his remarks widely seen as going after the 76-year-old former vice president’s age.
The former Obama Cabinet member went after Biden during a disagreement over health care. Castro claimed that Biden had made a mistake over who could be automatically enrolled in his plan — a matter the two camps were still battling over on Friday.
“Are you forgetting what you said two minutes ago?” Castro said to Biden. “I can’t believe that you said, two minutes ago, that they had to buy in and now you’re forgetting that. We need a health care system where you’re automatically enrolled.”
Biden did not specifically say that consumers would be required to buy in to his plan despite Castro’s claim.
