Meghan McCain: Lewandowski Senate run would be ‘an absolutely ridiculous crap show’

Meghan McCain said on Wednesday that a Corey Lewandowski Senate bid would be “an absolutely ridiculous crap show” following the former Trump campaign manager’s tumultuous hearing on Capitol Hill.

“[Lewandowski] running for Senate in New Hampshire, anyone who has been to New Hampshire, they are the most independent voters. The widest verse in the nation. Live free or die,” McCain said on the ABC’s “The View.”

{mosads}”Get your popcorn and whiskey,” she continued. “It’s going to be an absolutely ridiculous crap show. It’s such a joke if he thinks he can just go and run in the state of New Hampshire.”

Lewandowski, who served as President Trump’s campaign manager during the 2016 election, launched a new website on Tuesday during a break in his testimony before a House panel in an effort to boost his profile ahead of a possible 2020 challenge to Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D) in New Hampshire.

A liberal super PAC, American Bridge, labeled Lewandowski “a lobbyist accused of selling access to the White House” in a digital ad that began running Wednesday as well as a “foreign agent whose clients included a state owned Venezuelan oil conglomerate.”

The 40-second ad will run through the weekend on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, according to a statement provided to The Hill by American Bridge spokesperson Zach Hudson.

“Corey Lewandowski is a shady grifter who gives snake oil salesmen a bad name,” Hudson said. “If Lewandowski is too unethical to work in the Trump White House, he’s certainly too crooked to represent New Hampshire in the Senate.”

Lewandowski told Fox News on Wednesday that he is “very, very close” to announcing a Senate bid.
