Joe Scarborough predicts Trump-Harris debate on Fox News ‘just not gonna happen’

MSNBC pundit Joe Scarborough predicted former President Trump and Vice President Harris will not meet on a debate stage for a clash hosted by Fox News.

The morning talk show host said Monday that Trump was “trying to get out” of debating Harris, who has said she is willing to debate Trump on Sept. 10 on ABC, an event Trump agreed to attend for a debate against President Biden before he dropped out of the race.

The former president has since said he will not participate in a debate hosted on ABC, accusing the network of bias against him and citing ongoing litigation against the company, instead proposing he and Harris debate a week earlier, Sept. 4, on Fox News, the top-watched cable news channel.

“He obviously is proposing something that is no more likely for Kamala Harris to attend than it is for him to attend something on MSNBC in prime time,” Scarborough said. “It’s just not going to happen.”

Scarborough and his co-host and wife Mika Brzezinski are, like many of the progressive pundits on MSNBC, often sharply critical of both Trump and his allies on Fox News and elsewhere across conservative media.

“Morning Joe,” a favorite cable news program of President Biden, did not air on the first weekday after the assassination against Trump last month, a decision the host criticized network leadership for on air at the time.

The news outlet Semafor reported over the weekend that NBC is among the networks vying to host a debate between Harris and Trump.

ABC has said it plans to host Harris on Sept. 10 regardless if Trump attends.
