Former ESPN host Will Cain will join “Fox & Friends Weekend” as a co-host, according to a Fox News announcement on Monday.
Cain, 45, will debut on the weekend morning program on Saturday, Aug. 15, along with co-hosts Jedediah Bila and Pete Hegseth.
“I am excited to join the team at FOX & Friends Weekend and look forward to building upon my experience in sports, news and politics on the number one morning show in the country,” Cain, also a former CNN political analyst, said in a statement.
“Fox & Friends Weekend” has rotated in a third co-host since Tucker Carlson moved to prime time in 2016.
“Will has a unique ability to connect with an audience on a wide variety of topics and will make an excellent addition to the FOX & Friends franchise,” said Fox News vice president of morning programming Gavin Hadden in the announcement.
Cain most recently hosted his weekday ESPN radio program “The Will Cain Show” and appeared as a frequent panelist on the ESPN sports debate program “First Take.”
Prior to being on television and radio, “Cain financed, bought and sold two media companies, Quince Media, a Hispanic media company, and Cain Communications, a community newspaper group in Texas,” according to the Fox News release.
The program has topped rivals CNN and MSNBC in the cable news race on weekend mornings in total viewers and the 25-54 demographic coveted by advertisers, averaging 1.7 million total viewers and 313,000 in that demographic in the first quarter of 2020.
