Buttigieg’s new book, ‘Trust,’ slated for October release

Former Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg’s new book is scheduled for release in October, his publisher announced on Wednesday.

Liveright Publishing said that “Trust: America’s Best Chance” will be available on Oct. 6, according to The Associated Press.

In order for our country to move forward in the years ahead, it will be more important than ever to build trust — trust in our institutions and leaders, trust in each other, and trust around the world in America itself,” Buttigieg said in a statement, the AP reported.

“Now is a time to consider the foundational role trust plays in our democracy, and what it will take to build the trust we’ll need to recover and to advance as a country,” the former South Bend, Ind., mayor added.

Buttigieg previously wrote a memoir titled “Shortest Way Home: One Mayor’s Challenge and a Model for America’s Future,” which became a best-seller as he launched his presidential run.

He and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) virtually tied in the closely watched Iowa caucuses earlier this year, which often predict success in the presidential primary.

Buttigieg ultimately dropped from the race days before Super Tuesday, however, immediately throwing his support behind former Vice President Joe Biden, who is now the presumptive Democratic nominee.
