Cain given tributes after death from COVID-19

The political and media world paid condolences to Herman Cain on Thursday after the former GOP presidential candidate died due to the coronavirus.

Cain, the former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, was diagnosed with COVID-19 in late June and admitted to the hospital on July 1, 10 days after attending President Trump’s rally in Tulsa, Okla.

It was not determined where Cain, 74, contracted the virus.

Cain’s website editor confirmed his death on Thursday morning.

“Herman Cain – our boss, our friend, like a father to so many of us – has passed away,” Dan Calabrese said in a post.

“We knew when he was first hospitalized with COVID-19 that this was going to be a rough fight,” Calabrese added. “He had trouble breathing and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. We all prayed that the initial meds they gave him would get his breathing back to normal, but it became clear pretty quickly that he was in for a battle.”
