Pro-Trump duo Diamond and Silk launch new program on Newsmax TV
Diamond and Silk launched a new program on Newsmax TV over the weekend, four months after Fox News parted ways with the staunch supporters of President Trump.
The duo, whose real names are Lynnette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson, debuted “Diamond and Silk Crystal Clear” on Saturday night on the cable channel.
Newsmax TV — run by Chris Ruddy, a friend of President Trump’s who once contributed $1 million to the Clinton Foundation — has added several shows to its lineup in recent months, including former White House press secretary Sean Spicer’s “Spicer & Co.” and former Fox-5 “Good Day New York” co-host Greg Kelly for “Greg Kelly Reports.”
The addition of Hardaway and Richardson comes after the two were embroiled in controversy in late March after claiming without evidence that the novel coronavirus was man-made.
“Is this being deliberately spread? Look, I’m not being a conspiracy theorist, this is real, but I’m asking my own questions: What the hell is going on?” Richardson said on the pair’s Fox Nation show.
“This is something that was man-made,” she added. “I think it’s a little deep state action going on behind the scenes. … To me, this is something undercover. It is engineered.”
Fox News severed ties with the duo not long after, and Twitter temporarily locked their account over a tweet that criticized coronavirus crisis stay-at-home orders and suggested that people should be “out in the environment.”
Trump has previously voiced his support for the pair on social media. He also hosted them in the Oval Office before their controversy with Fox News.
So great being with you both in the Oval Office! https://t.co/9VoIV3NahE
