ABC to host Trump town hall on September 15; Biden yet to respond
ABC News will host a live town hall event with President Trump and undecided voters on Sept. 15, the network announced on Thursday.
The event will be hosted by ABC chief anchor George Stephanopoulos.
The network says an invitation has also been extended to Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, who has not responded as of mid-Thursday afternoon.
The event is to take place seven weeks before Election Day. ABC says it “will provide undecided voters, both in person and virtually, a chance to ask the president their important questions before voting in November.”
The one-hour event, “The Presidential Town Hall: Your Voice, Your Vote, Your Questions,” will be held in Philadelphia and in accordance with state and local government regulations regarding COVID-19, according to ABC.

The town hall will also occur two weeks before the first presidential debate between Trump and Biden in Cleveland.
The presidential race has tightened in recent weeks since Biden held a double-digit lead in late June, with the RealClearPolitics index of polls showing the former vice president with a 7.1-point lead.
In key battleground states, however, the index shows Biden’s lead shrinking to just 3.7 points, from 6.2 points on June 25.
