CNN Films, the motion picture division of news network CNN, announced on Friday that it has acquired the rights to “President in Waiting,” a documentary featuring President-elect Joe Biden and other former vice presidents discussing their relationships to their commanders in chief.

The documentary, directed by Jeffrey Roth, features Biden talking about his relationship with former President Obama and the process of accepting the nomination for vice president, according to a press release from CNN Films. According to the company, Biden also delves into the most critical moments of Obama’s presidency and the counsel he gave the former president at the time.

“President in Waiting” will also feature five other living vice presidents: current Vice President Pence and former Vice Presidents Dick Cheney, Al Gore, Dan Quayle and Walter Mondale, according to the release. Former Presidents Obama, George W. Bush, Clinton and Carter will also make appearances in the documentary.

Each interview with the former and present leaders is meant to reveal the “singular forces” that shaped the vice presidencies, from war to political crises.

“The documentary is a blend of contemporary interviews, footage of events, and evocative photographs and other archival media that document the central role of the men at the heart of American power,” the release reads.

News of the documentary comes as Biden prepares to take over the White House in January. Biden joins the ranks of other vice presidents such as George H.W. Bush, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and Martin Van Buren who were elected president after previously filling the No. 2 position.

“President in Waiting” will air on CNN Dec. 5 at 9 p.m. EDT.
