First release from Fox News Books reaches No. 2 on Amazon top-seller list

The first release from Fox News Books, which was written by host Pete Hegseth, reached No. 2 on Amazon’s new releases top-seller list after its debut on Tuesday.

The “Fox & Friends Weekend” co-host released “Modern Warriors: Real Stories from Real Heroes,” which builds off his Fox Nation series and includes “candid, unfiltered conversations” from 15 people from the U.S. military, according to a press release.

Hegseth’s book sits behind former President Obama’s memoir “A Promised Land,” which came out last week, on Amazon’s best-selling new and future releases list.

Hegseth, who served three Army deployments and earned two Bronze Stars and a Combat Infantryman’s Badge, details his personal experience serving in Afghanistan and Iraq in the book.

He also covers the stories of Pennsylvania House candidate Sean Parnell (R), Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) and Medal of Honor recipient David Bellavia.

“Hegseth uses their experiences to facilitate conversations about the raw truths of combat, including the difficulties of transitioning back home, while also celebrating these soldiers’ contributions to preserving our nation’s most precious gift — freedom,” a Fox News release said.

The book’s release comes ahead of a “Modern Warriors” special set to air Sunday at 10 p.m. Retired U.S. Army Capt. Chad Fleming, former Army Ranger Nick Irving and retired U.S. Marine Johnny “Joey” Jones will appear on the panel for the special alongside Hegseth.

Fox News signed a deal with HarperCollins Publishers for three books, the network announced last month. “Modern Warriors” will be followed by a project by “Fox News @ Night” anchor Shannon Bream, in which she looks into women in the Bible. Her book is expected to come out in spring 2021.
