Fox News host Pete Hegseth will serve as the host of “Fox News Primetime” next week, the Hill has learned.

Hegseth is a co-host of Fox & Friends Weekend and hosts a show on the channel’s streaming service, Fox Nation, called Modern Warriors.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to host FOX News Primetime, and plan to deliver the same unapologetic, common-sense, and patriotic perspective we deliver every weekend on FOX & Friends,” Hegseth said in a statement to The Hill.

Since revamping the 7 p.m. hour earlier this year, Fox News has plugged in various analysts and contributors to anchor the show such as Tammy Bruce, Ben Domenech, Katie Pavlich, Lawrence Jones, Brian Kilmeade and Maria Bartiromo.

Bartiromo interviewed former President Trump during a recent stint hosting the 7 p.m. hour.

“This new powerful lineup ensures FOX News Media will continue to deliver outstanding coverage for our viewers who depend on the most trusted names in the business,” Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said when the company announced the revamp of the 7 p.m. hour.

The network said it would eventually find a permanent host for the 7 p.m. hour “at a later date.”

For the month of April, “Fox News Primetime” was in the top 10 among programs in cable news, the network said, noting since its launch in January the show has outpaced CNN in total viewers and MSNBC in the demographic of viewers age 25 to 54.
