Former Barr spokesperson at DOJ hired to be Fox News Washington editor
Kerri Kupec, a former spokesperson for then-Attorney General William Barr during his stint at the Justice Department, has been hired to serve as Washington editor for Fox News, the network announced this week.
In her new role, Kupec will participate in story selection under the oversight of Doug Rohrbeck, who has been promoted to senior vice president of D.C. news. Kupec is the former director of public affairs and counselor to Barr, serving as chief spokesperson at the Department of Justice (DOJ).
She was also a member of former President Trump’s transition team in 2016 and assisted the Office of White House Counsel’s Supreme Court confirmation team in 2018.
Bill Sammon, Fox News’s senior vice president and managing editor in Washington, retired earlier this year, after working at the network since 2008.
“I am pleased that these dedicated individuals will join FOX News’ leadership team at our headquarters in New York and our largest bureau in Washington,” Jay Wallace, president and executive editor of Fox News Media, said in a statement. “They will continue to advance our robust news operation and commitment to showcasing diverse perspectives across the network.”
Sarah Isgur, who served as the DOJ’s lead spokesperson under Attorney General Jeff Sessions before Barr, was hired by CNN in 2019 to serve as that network’s political editor.
