Woodward book on last days of Trump presidency expected in September: report

A book detailing former President Trump’s last days in the Oval Office from renowned investigative journalist Bob Woodward is reportedly set to be published in September.

CNN reports that the book, the name of which is unknown, will be published by Simon & Schuster on Sep. 21. Woodward has published two other books through Simon & Schuster on Trump’s presidency: “Fear: Trump in the White House” and “Rage.”

The new book will also cover the beginnings of President Biden’s term, according to CNN. Woodward is reportedly working on the book with Washington Post reporter Robert Costa.

Woodward’s first book on Trump’s presidency, “Fear” released in 2018, detailed the efforts that administration officials made to prevent the former president from taking certain actions, including stealing draft orders from his desk.

CNN notes that while Trump declined to sit down for an interview for “Fear,” he gave 18 interviews for Woodward’s second book on his presidency, “Rage,” which went inside the Trump administration’s response during the first days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Tapes of these interviews were released last year in which Trump acknowledged that he downplayed the severity of the pandemic.

It is unclear if Trump sat down for interviews with Woodward for the new book. However, in March it was reported that Trump was sitting down with several book authors who were writing about his administration, including journalists from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and ABC News.
