Fox News adjusts weekend prime-time lineup

Fox News on Thursday announced changes to its weekend prime-time lineup starting later this month.

Lawrence Jones and Brian Kilmeade will both get prime-time shows on Saturday nights, the network announced, and current prime-time host Dan Bongino will take over the 9 p.m. slot on Saturdays previously occupied by Jeanine Pirro’s show.

Pirro was announced as a permanent host of “The Five,” and Jesse Watters, another weekend prime-time host, was given a solo hosting gig on Fox’s newly created fourth hour of weekday prime-time opinion programing earlier this month.

The promotion of Jones will make him the youngest Black solo host of a program in cable news, Fox noted in its announcement. He will continue in his role as an enterprise reporter on the outlet’s weekday morning program “Fox & Friends.”

Kilmeade will remain a co-host of “Fox & Friends,” a job he has had since the late 1990s, and continue hosting his afternoon talk show on Fox News Radio.

“I am truly honored that Suzanne has given me another incredible opportunity at Fox News Media,” Kilmeade said. “My ultimate goal is to create a program that will always seek solutions rather than sow division.”

Jones said he looks forward to “delivering insightful, thought-provoking coverage on the key issues that really matter to the heartland of the nation.”

Jones’s and Kilmeade’s new shows begin Jan. 29.
