NYT reporter Haberman unveils title, cover of upcoming Trump book

New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman has announced the title and revealed the cover of her upcoming book on former President Trump.

“Confidence Man” will focus on Donald Trump, taking “a long look at the arc of his life, from the world that made him in New York City to the world he tried to recreate in the White House,” Haberman said in a series of tweets on Thursday.

The subtitle of Haberman’s book reads “the making of Donald Trump and the breaking of America,” and the cover image shows a young Trump in a suit with his hands clasped in front of him as he poses for a portrait.

The book is likely to be filled with scoops from Haberman, who has reported on Trump, his family and his businesses for decades going back to her time in New York media as he rose to prominence as a real estate tycoon and self-promoter through local tabloids.

Axios first reported on Wednesday one of the accounts Haberman details in her forthcoming books is that White House staffers regularly found ripped-up printed paper clogging a toilet in the presidential residence during Trump’s time in office.

“The engineer would have to come and fix it and what the engineer would find would be … wads of clumped-up printed wet paper,” Haberman said Thursday morning during an appearance on CNN.

Trump responded in a statement on Thursday morning calling Haberman’s reporting  “categorically untrue and simply made up by a reporter in order to get publicity for a mostly fictitious book.”
