Giuliani returns to Capitol Hill

Former presidential candidate and ex-New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) is scheduled to return to Capitol Hill Wednesday morning to meet with lawmakers who supported his presidential bid and discuss where he can be of most use in this year's congressional races.
 
{mosads} An aide to Giuliani said "this is really an opportunity for members to talk to Rudy, ask questions, discuss the current landscape and for the mayor to say thank you for everyone's hardwork and dedication over the last year."
 
The former mayor withdrew from the race and endorsed presumptive Republican nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.)  after Giuliani did worse than expected in the Florida primary.
 
In 2004 and 2006, Giuliani, well regarded by Republican voters for his leadership role after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, was a big draw and welcome surrogate on the campaign trail.
 
The aide said Giuliani would talk to the members at an "informal" breakfast about this year's targeted races and "candidates who are going to need help this cycle."
 
Republican members scheduled to attend include Sen. Norm Coleman (Minn.) and Reps. David Dreier (Calif.), Phil English (Pa.), Jim Gerlach (Pa.), Pete Sessions (Texas), Dave Reichert (Wash.), and Jo Ann Emerson (Mo.), along with former New York Reps. Susan Molinari and Bill Paxon.
