Three new assault allegations made against Weinstein: report
Three new allegations of sexual or physical assault have been made against Harvey Weinstein, according to a new report.
The Washington Post reported the previously unreported allegations after conducting 67 interviews with people currently or formerly in “Weinstein’s orbit.”
Weinstein was reportedly violent toward men and women, according to The Post.
{mosads}“Mr. Weinstein obviously can’t speak to anonymous allegations, but with respect to any women who have made allegations on the record, Mr. Weinstein believes that all of those relationships were consensual,” Weinstein’s representative Sallie Hofmeister said in a statement to the Post.
“Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein.”
Weinstein was expelled Saturday from The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences after reports of sexual harassment and sexual assault allegations against the movie mogul stretching back decades.
The Academy’s board said in a statement it wants to send the message that “the era of willful ignorance and shameful complicity in sexually predatory behavior and workplace harassment in our industry is over.”
Weinstein has sought treatment following the multiple sexual harassment allegations, but he denied allegations of rape.
Weinstein told reporters this week in his first public appearance since the allegations surfaced that “we all make mistakes.”
