Eric Trump invites golfers to Trump golf courses reopened with restrictions

Eric Trump is urging golfers to return to Trump Organization golf courses that have reopened in California and Florida.

“We are very excited that Trump National Golf Club, Los Angeles and Trump Doral in Miami are reopened!!” he tweeted Monday. “The courses are absolutely impeccable and our teams are waiting for you!”

A number of states — including California, Florida, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey — have allowed golf courses to reopen as part of the first phase of reopening after coronavirus lockdowns.

Most golf courses have implemented new restrictions for reopening, including the Trump courses.

Trump, one of President Trump’s sons and the executive vice president of the Trump Organization, in the tweet urged golfers to reserve tee times. At Trump National Doral in Miami, reservations are required. Tee time intervals have been adjusted to ensure proper social distancing at both locations.

At both locations, golf carts are limited to a single rider and ball washers and bunker rakes have been removed from the courses, both standard new health restrictions at most golf courses that have reopened since the coronavirus pandemic.

At Trump National Los Angeles, golfers are encouraged to walk rather than use golf carts. The restaurant and beverage cart are for to-go orders only.

Trump National Doral is not making available caddies to load bags on and off golf carts or valets to park cars.

Golfers are requested not to shake hands at either location and are required to wear face masks indoors.

When the White House first recommended wearing face masks to the public in April, President Trump said he would not wear one. He has so far avoided wearing a mask in public. He has publicly participated in an elbow bump rather than a handshake since the pandemic began.
