Herman Cain undergoing oxygen treatment in hospital after coronavirus diagnosis

Herman Cain, a former Republican presidential candidate, is undergoing oxygen treatment as he remains hospitalized after he was diagnosed with COVID-19 earlier this month

Cain is being treated with oxygen for his lungs, but his doctors said his other organs and system are strong, a spokesperson tweeted from Cain’s account.

“Re-strengthening the lungs is a long and slow process, and the doctors want to be thorough about it,” the spokesperson said.

“We’d like him to be able to come home now, which is frustrating, but we’re glad the doctors are being thorough and making sure they do the job right. Thank you for praying, everyone. Please keep doing it. He really is getting better, which means it is working,” the spokesperson added.

Cain, the co-chair of Black Voices for Trump, was seen at a rally for President Trump on June 20 in Tulsa, Okla., before his hospitalization for COVID-19 was announced.

It is unclear where Cain contracted the virus, according to the spokespeople operating Cain’s Twitter account.
