It took less than 60 seconds for Nike’s new Colin Kaepernick jersey commemorating four years since he first took a knee during the national anthem to sell out, according to a new report.

Nike on Thursday rolled out the Kaepernick monochromatic Icon Jersey 2.0, with a price tag of $150. A company representative confirmed to CBS News the jersey had sold out in less than a minute.

“Four years ago, Colin Kaepernick first took a knee to peacefully protest against systemic racism and social injustice,” the company said on its website promoting the jersey. “In the years since, he’s used his platform as an athlete to help advance the liberation and well-being of Black & Brown communities.”

Kaepernick has not returned to the NFL since leaving the league following the protests against racism and police brutality he first sparked in 2016.

The former quarterback turned activist has been critical of social justice measures taken by the NFL since the death of George Floyd in May, initiatives he recently called “propaganda.”

“Four years ago, I took a knee to protest against systemic racism and social injustice. It was that day that the number on my jersey would come to represent something greater than football, something greater than me,” Kaepernick wrote on Instagram on Thursday. “Since then, the number 7 jersey has become a symbol for advancing the liberation and well-being of Black & Brown communities. Thank you for staying True.”

President Trump has been critical of Kaepernick, kneeling protests before professional sports games, and the Black Lives Matter movement in general, calling its members “unpatriotic” and accusing them of “hating” America.
