George W. Bush honors Ginsburg: ‘She inspired more than one generation of women and girls’

Former President George W. Bush honored the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Friday night after her death, praising her legacy.

“Laura and I join our fellow Americans in mourning the loss of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She dedicated many of her 87 remarkable years to the pursuit of justice and equality, and she inspired more than one generation of women and girls,” the former president and former first lady Laura Bush said in a statement.

Ginsburg, the liberal leader of the Supreme Court and lifelong champion of women’s rights, died on Friday. She was 87 years old.

Her death sent shockwaves through the nation Friday with major political figures and others sharing their condolences for Ginsburg.
