After being stolen, the lectern was missing for a brief period of time before turning up in Florida. Police arrested Adam Johnson, the man pictured in the now-viral image of him carrying the lectern through the Capitol rotunda during the riots, in Pinellas County, Fla. on Jan. 8 for the theft.
Johnson was released Monday on $25,000 bail and the conditions that he surrender his passport, submit substance abuse tests and wear an electronic monitoring device. He faces charges of stealing government property, violent entry and entering a government building without permission.
Johnson is also not allowed to travel outside the Middle District of Florida unless it’s for court purposes. His next hearing is set for Jan. 19 in Washington, D.C., the day before President-elect Joe Biden is to be sworn into office, WTSP reports.
The lectern is estimated to be worth about $1,000, according to ABC News.
